Things You'll Need:
- salt
- baby oil
- water
- goblet or bowl
- rosewater or vanilla
-
Step 1
Pour a cup of sea or kosher salt in a container of some kind. I use Morton's kosher--the granules are large enough to have uber-sloughing powders, but not rocky enough to scrape my impossibly delicate dermis.
-
Step 2
Squirt in about a half cup of the baby oil and swirl together. You might need a splash of water to give it a more malleable texture.
-
Step 3
Take the whole concoction to the loo and have at it. If you want to feel less "pauper/skinflint" and more "home-spun/resourceful" you could add a little drip of vanilla extract or rosewater to enliven the olfactory experience of your scrub. When did I become such a freakin miser? I'm seeking therapy.

on 11/8/2009 Use grapeseed or almond oil instead of baby oil. Baby oil is not good for your skin. It doesnt allow your skin to breathe.

on 3/20/2009 Fabulous! It kills me to see people paying $20 for 25 cents worth of product. Your formula works just as well, and you can afford to indulge your skin every day.

on 2/17/2009 I've done this and I love it. I actually have tried different oils as well but the result is pretty much the same. Great article!
