The MicroFocuser #1209 by Meade is a great addition to your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The MicroFocuser allows you to keep your image centered in your CCD chip while you dial in the exact focus you're looking for. Follow these steps to install the #1209 Zero Image-Shift Microfuser on your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Open the box with your Meade #1209 MicroFocuser.
Step2
Unpack all of the contents.
Step3
Set-up your telescope.
Step4
Take the dust cap off the rear of your telescope.
Step5
Place the Meade #1209 MicroFocuser adapter into the rear port of the telescope.
Step6
Take the MicroFocuser and slide it over the adapter. If you use an inch and a quarter diagonal prism, slide the inch and a quarter adapter into place before installing the MicroFocuser. Tighten the set screws.
Step7
Plug in the cord.

Tips & Warnings

  • The cord is adaptable to the LX90 and the LX200 control panels. If you plug it into these control panels, you'll have to use the arrow keys on the control panel to control the microfocuser.
  • Be careful to not overtighten the screws when installing the MicroFocuser. The threads are fine. Overtightening them will destroy your device.
