How to Attach the Meade #1209 Zero Image-Shift MicroFocuser to Your 7N Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope

The MicroFocuser #1209 by Meade is a great addition to your Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope. It keeps your image centered on your CCD chip even when you're making substantial focusing adjustments. This added benefit also means that you'll never have a wobbling effect when you make adjustments. It smooths whatever motion the telescope incurs as you fine tune it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

1. Open the box with your Meade #1209 MicroFocuser.
2. Unpack all of the contents.
3. Set-up your telescope.
4. Take the dust cap off the rear of your telescope.
5. Place the Meade #1209 microfocuser adapter into the rear port of the telescope.
6. Take the microfocuser and slide it over the adapter. If you use an inch and a quarter diagonal prism, you should first have in place the inch and quarter adapter. Tighten the set screws.
7. Plug in the cord.

Tips & Warnings

• The cord is adaptable to the LX90 and the LX200 control panels. If you plug it into these control panels, you'll have to use the arrow keys on the control panel to control the microfocuser.
• Be careful to not overtighten the screws when installing the microfocuser. The threads are fine. Overtightening them will destroy your device.
