Although many people have just made New Year's resolutions to lose weight or work out more, those goals often prove very difficult to keep. Finding a compatible work out partner or support person can make a huge difference in your success.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A compatible work out partner.

Step1
If you are already a member of a gym or fitness center, the staff may be able to advise you on other members who have a similar workout program or goal as you do. If not, look around when you are working out and strike up a friendly conversation with others who seem to enjoy the same type of workout and are at the same fitness level as you. This may lead to finding out that they would enjoy having a someone to work out with.

Tips & Warnings

  • Having a workout partner makes you much more motivated to keep up your exercise program. Working out regularly will then help you achieve your weight loss and fitness goals. If you know that someone else is expecting you to show up at the gym or the running track, you are much less likely to skip your work out. It can also make the time on the treadmill or lifting weights go much faster when you have someone to talk with as you walk or in between sets. I personally found that having a workout partner made my goal of weight loss and fitness much easier. You can see my story and weight loss results at http://www.secretoflosingweight.com
  • It is generally best to avoid working out with someone who is way more advanced than you or at a much greater level of fitness.
