How to Earn Kimahri's Later Overdrives in Final Fantasy X

The finale in our series on obtaining all the overdrives for your characters, we look at Kimahri's more difficult overdrives. These last few overdrives are what make him stand a head above the rest (figuratively, he's already taller than everyone else).

Instructions

1. Obtain Doom from the Ghosts in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth. Note that this can make nearly any boss fight easier! Very few bosses are immune to Doom. This attack puts a countdown above an enemy. When the count reaches 0, Death comes for them! Although the counter above most bosses will probably be huge, but it will ensure their destruction! This comes in extra-handy when fighting Biran and Yenke.

2. Learn White Wind from the Dark Flan on Mt. Gagazet. This spell heals the entire party for half of Kimahri's total HP. For example, if Kimahri has 8,400 total HP, White Wind will heal the entire party for 4,200 HP.

3. Snag Bad Breath from the Malboro in the Calm Lands. Beware! These fiends are extremely dangerous because of this attack! It causes a myriad of status ailments, including confusion! Without Auto-Med and Confuseproof armor, this attack is almost certain death! Kimahri's Bad Breath does the same thing: inflicts random status ailments.

4. Obtain Mighty Guard from the Behemoths at Mt. Gagazet. An effect similar to this can be attained through Rikku's Mix overdrive. This powerful spell casts Protect, Shell and all 4 Nul-element spells on the entire party.

5. Learn Nova from either Omega or Nemesis. Beware! Omega is the final boss of the Omega Dungeon and is very tough! Nemesis is not only the toughest creation of the monster Arena, it is THE toughest boss in the ENTIRE game! DO NOT engage it lightly! In either case, you will probably only get one shot at Nova, so be sure to get it! This spell deals tremendous damage to all enemies and is really cool to watch!

6. Be aware that if you miss any of Kimahri's overdrives along the way, every one of them save Nova can be learned by continually using Lancet on Biran and Yenke when you fight them on your way to Mt. Gagazet.

7. Consider not earning some of the overdrives along the way in favor of learning them from Biran and Yenke. Why wait? Because the fight with Biran and Yenke is a long, tough battle. If Kimahri learns a new attack through Lancet, his overdrive gauge instantly charges to full, giving him a free shot with his new attack. Holding off on learning some of his overdrives gives him a bit more of an edge when fighting Biran and Yenke.
