Instructions

    • 1

Download some videos. Find videos on the Internet or from the iTunes Store. You can import home videos, too, but make sure to save everything in MPEG-4 Video format.

    • 2

Add videos to your library. Open up iTunes and click "File" then "Add to Library." Browse to where you have your videos saved and select your video files.

    • 3

Connect your iPod. Now, click your "iPod" icon. From the "Summary" page, check "Manually Manage Music" and/or "Manually Manage Video."

    • 4

Create a playlist. Click the plus sign in the lower left. This will create a new playlist. Name it something like "Comedy" or "Music Videos." Repeat this step for however many categories you want.

    • 5

Find videos in your iTunes library. Click "Movies" or "TV Shows" or some other video subcategory from your library. Find a video you want to put into your playlist.

    • 6

Move videos to your playlist. Drag the video to the playlist you want to keep it in.

    • 7

Disconnect your iPod. Once you are finished moving videos, hit the "Eject" button and disconnect your iPod.

    • 8

Access your playlists. Now, instead of choosing your videos from the master list, select your videos from the playlists you have just created.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can make playlists on your computer and set up iTunes to automatically update those specific playlists.

  • When you download videos, they usually have genres attached. You can sort them on your iPod according to genre by choosing to browse genres.

  • Rename vague file names to be short and descriptive for better organizing.

  • For these steps, you must have the latest version of iTunes.
