Focusing the telescope is important to getting sharper images. You may have to focus your telescope frequently depending on the distance of the object, outside temperature and flexures. Besides, if you change the eyepiece or insert (or remove) the Barlow lens, the Sky-Watcher SK1206AZ3 Short Tube Refractor Telescope must be refocused.

Instructions

Step1
Point the telescope at the object you would like to focus on.

Step2
Turn the focus knobs (of the eyepiece) slowly in either direction until you get see the image sharply.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose a location that is away from the city lights and pollution free.
  • The telescope’s lens will take some time to adjust to the outside temperature.
  • Observe with both eyes open.
  • Ensure that your telescope has a good eyepiece.
  • When looking at faint objects, don’t focus directly on them but slightly to their side.
