How to Sync All Songs on an iPod

You can sync all songs on an iPod to a particular computer using iTunes and an iPod USB cable. You can get all the songs, audiobooks and videos from any machine simply by syncing the iPod to the machine. Follow these steps to sync all songs on an iPod.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Connect your iPod. Use the USB cable to connect your iPod to the computer.

  2. Step 2

    Open up iTunes. When iTunes does not launch automatically, double-click the icon.

  3. Step 3

    Click your iPod icon in iTunes. Find it in the device list. This will open the settings.

  4. Step 4

    Click the "Music" tab. Check "Sync Music" and select "All Songs and Playlists." Click "Apply."

  5. Step 5

    Click "File" and "Sync iPod." Should your iPod have a name, the option will be "Sync ."

  6. Step 6

    Wait for your iPod to finish updating. There will be a status bar displayed while your iPod updates.

  7. Step 7

    Disconnect your iPod. Hit the "Eject" button next to your iPod icon and wait for the "Do not Display" message to go away.

Tips & Warnings
  • By default, your iPod will sync all songs and videos automatically when you connect it.
  • You can choose to sync only certain songs or playlists instead.
  • Syncing all songs will delete any song on your iPod that is not on the computer.

on 5/14/2009 My Ipod (30Gb 5th Gen. ) does not sync to Itunes. It goes through the process then it says cannot sync error 48 why is this happening
