Podcasts are like radio shows for iTunes, except you can listen to them whenever you'd like. Putting them on your iPod is as simple as syncing songs. Here is what you need to do to find podcasts for an iPod.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Install iTunes. You probably already did this when you set up your iPod. It is the program that you use to access your iTunes library and it starts up automatically when you connect your iPod.

  2. Step 2

Connect to the iTunes store. Open up iTunes and click the store icon from the 'Source" list on the left.

  3. Step 3

Sign up or log in. Use the "Sign In" button to create an account or enter your information if you have already got an account.

  4. Step 4

Begin browsing. The iTunes store is easy to navigate. You can find a section for podcasts by clicking the links.

  5. Step 5

Search for podcasts. When you have the name of a podcast you have in mind, type it in to the search field in the top right.

  6. Step 6

Download podcasts. Some podcasts cost money but others are free. Add them to your cart and checkout to download them. They will appear in your iTunes library automatically.

  7. Step 7

Find them on the Internet. Some podcasts are available off the Web. Visit some radio station Web sites or do Web searches for podcasts. They will provide links to their podcasts as well as instructions for listening.

  8. Step 8

Click podcast links. When you see a link for a podcast, simply click it and it should open up with iTunes automatically. You may have to let your browser know it is okay for it to launch iTunes the first time.

  9. Step 9

Connect your iPod. Use the dock or USB cable to connect your iPod to your machine.

  10. Step 10

Click the "iPod" icon. This will open the "Settings" menu. Click the "Podcasts" tab.

  11. Step 11

Select "Sync ...Podcast Episodes." Choose the number of episodes you want in the pop-up menu.

  12. Step 12

Select which podcasts to sync. You can also select "All."

  13. Step 13

Click "Apply." Your podcasts will be put on your iPod next time you update.

Tips & Warnings
  • To load podcasts manually, simply drag and drop them to the "iPod" icon.
