How to Find Audiobooks for an iPod

Audiobooks are like books on tape that you play on your iPod. You can find audiobooks on the iTunes store or on the Web. Sometimes you can even find audiobooks for free! Follow these steps to find audiobooks for an iPod.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Install the latest version of iTunes.

  2. Step 2

    Visit the iTunes store (see below). From the list on the left-hand side of the screen, click "iTunes Store." Click the "Home" icon near the top should you not see the iTunes store main page.

  3. Step 3

    Click "Audiobooks." This should be in a panel on the left under the heading "iTunes Store."

  4. Step 4

    Browse. You will get a display of some featured audiobooks. Click on some titles or authors that interest you to get more details.

  5. Step 5

    Search. When you have something particular in mind, type the name of the author or title into the search box in the top right. Results that are audiobooks will have a "Buy Book" button.

  6. Step 6

    Buy your book. Once you find something you like, click the "Buy Book" button. Once you enter your information and check out it should appear in your iTunes library.

  7. Step 7

    Connect your iPod. Add the audiobook manually. Find the audiobook in your iTunes library and drag and drop it to your iPod icon.

  8. Step 8

    Sync the audiobooks automatically. Click your iPod icon to open the settings. Make sure "Sync Music" under the "Music" tab is selected. Now click "File" then "Sync iPod."

  9. Step 9

    Disconnect your iPod. Hit the "Eject" button right by your iPod icon and wait until it is safe to disconnect.

  10. Step 10

    Enjoy your audiobook!

Tips & Warnings
  • Audiobooks are skipped when shuffling your songs.
  • When you stop listening to an audiobook, you will begin where you left off next time you play.
  • You can only change the playback speed of audiobooks purchased from audible.com or the iTunes store.
  • Syncing your iPod will delete anything on your iPod that is not on your computer.
