The SmartFinder remedies the situation present when attempting to find an object through an eyepiece. Viewing an object through an eyepiece is difficult because of the small field of vision. You must align the SmartFinder with the main telescope in order to reap the full benefits of this telescope.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Aim the telescope at a land object that is well defined, such as a telephone pole. Center the object you find in the SP 26mm eyepiece's field of view. Tighten the horizontal and vertical locks.

Step2
Look through the SmartFinder and turn the top or side alignment screws. Turn these screws until the SmartFinder's red dot points at the same position you see through the eyepiece

Tips & Warnings

  • Now that you have aligned the SmartFinder, you should not have to align it again. However, if the alignment screws are manipulated or the LNT Module is moved out of place, you will have to repeat the alignment process.
