With an iPod and iTunes you will have great control over your music collection. iTunes will organize, download, convert and sync songs from your library. Following these instructions will allow you to sync selected songs on an iPod from your computer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plug your iPod into your computer’s USB port or into a docking station connected to your computer. You must do this in order to sync songs on that iPod.

  2. Step 2

Open iTunes. iTunes should start automatically. Should it not, open the program manually. Once iTunes is running, go to your music library by clicking on the “Music” tag in the left side menu under “Library”. This will open your library of songs and allow you to choose which songs and artists you will sync to your iPod. Simply click the check box next to songs you want or shift-click with your left mouse button to select several songs at once.

  3. Step 3

After selecting a song, simply drag it to the iPod symbol under the “Devices” heading in the side menu. That song has now been synced to your iPod.

  4. Step 4

Change your mind. To deselect a song, open your iPod player library by clicking the iPod symbol. Choose the songs you wish to remove and hit the delete key or right click and select “Delete” from the dropdown menu.
