Sometimes locating distant objects can be difficult. In such cases, a low power telescope can be attached to the main scope of the Sky-Watcher SK1206AZ3 Short Tube Refractor Telescope for enhanced assistance in finding the object. The low power telescope is known as a Finderscope or ViewFinder. You can attach a small or a large Finderscope to the Sky-Watcher SK1206AZ3 Short Tube Refractor Telescope. Here’s how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Finderscope (small or large)

Attaching a Small Finderscope

Step1
Unscrew two knurled screws towards the end of the short tube refractor telescope’s main body.
Step2
Align the Finderscope’s optical assembly with the position where the screws were removed from.
Step3
Place the Finderscope’s bracket over this position and fit the knurled screws back to secure the Finderscope with the main telescope.

Attaching a Large Finderscope

Step1
Attach a bracket to the Finderscope. To do so, remove its rubber-o-ring (a small rubber ring on top of the bracket in the shape of an "O") and align it with the groove of the Finderscope tube.
Step2
Slide the Finderscope into the rectangular slot of the main telescope. Fasten the thumbscrew to fix the bracket.
