Sending flowers is always a great gesture, no matter what the occasion. Flowers are a wonderful gift to send to mom on Mother’s Day or to your wife on Valentine’s Day or your wedding anniversary. It is also a great way convey thanks to someone special, congratulate a friend, or send your sympathies to those at a funeral. Flowers are always the perfect gift or sentiment, and sending flowers to someone you care about has never been easier.

There are many online stores that offer flowers to be shipped anywhere in the world, to anyone you choose. The stores often have a variety of choices in flowers and arrangements for you to choose from. You can choose the card to go with the gift, and you can personalize your gift by adding a message to accompany the flowers. The recipient will never know that you ordered these gorgeous flowers while sitting at your desk at home or work—they will think you spent a lot of time at a florist going through and picking out flowers for the perfect arrangement for their special day.

Ordering flowers online is simple—all you have to do is choose an online florist and get to their Web site. Most florists can deliver your arrangement the same day or the next day. You can order well in advance, which is highly advisable if it’s a prominent “flower occasion” such as Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day. These are very busy holidays for flowers, so advanced ordering is advised.

on 12/14/2008 Who is answering this question? If a person can use a computer well enough to find eHow.com they should be savvy enough to find a local florist in the city where they want the flowers delivered. 1800flowers, Teleflora.com, FTD.com, etc, etc are what real florists call order gathers. Order gathering is not all they do...they also take your money! A very large percentage that the local florist filling your order never gets! The most common percentage is 27%. You will also pay some sort of service fee to these companies too. Guess what, the order filling florist will never see that either. These wire services started in the early part of the 20th century and they were great back then because unless you had a phone book from every city in the united states you would have a hard time finding a local florist in say Houston, TX if you lived in San Francisco, CA. on 12/14/2008 Internet has changed all that! Search for a local florist. You will find that your money will be well spent. BEWARE, these order gathers will appear to be a local florist but they aren’t. They use very deceptive advertising! If they don’t see a physical address on their website that reflects the city/neighboring city you want your flowers delivered in, they are not a local florist. I’m a local florist and I want to fill your order to value not keep 27%, charge you some crazy service fee and send the order to someone else. I operate a flower shop not a room full of cubicles.
