Many fax machines have a built-in phone book, which allows you to enter a certain amount of names and numbers for faxing. Once you have entered the names and numbers, you can dial the number by using either one-touch dialing, speed dialing or searching the phone book. Follow the steps below to create a speed dial list on a fax machine.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Owner's manual
  • Fax machine
Step1
Press the “Speed Dial” button on your fax machine for about two seconds. The display will show “Speed (00-80)>##.”
Step2
Enter a two-digit number then press “Start/Enter.” Numbers from 00 to 09 can be used for one-touch dialing. The numbers 10 and up can be used for speed dialing.
Step3
Enter the fax number you want to store (up to 40 digits) and then press “Start/Enter.” If you hit a wrong number by mistake, you can use the “<” or “>” keys to move the cursor under the digit and then enter the correct digit.
Step4
Enter the name of the person (up to 20 characters) and press “Start/Enter.” To enter more names and numbers repeat the above steps.
Step5
Press “Cancel” to exit. The name and number you have entered will go in a phone book.
Step6
Print a phone book by pressing the “Report/Help” key. Then press “<” or “>” until “Phonebook” displays and press “Start/Enter.”

Tips & Warnings

  • Refer to your fax machine manual, as each fax machine will be a little different.
  • In case you can not remember which number you assigned to each code, you can print out the phone book.
