How to Update iPod Software on a Mac

• Macintosh computer
• Internet access
• iPod

1. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB cable that came with your iPod.

2. Upgrade to iTunes 7 if you are using an older version of iTunes.

3. Visit the Apple iTunes Web site to download iTunes 7.

4. Open iTunes 7. Should it not open automatically, click on the iPod icon that appears under Devices.

5. Open the Summary tab. Click the "Update" button that appears when updates are available for your iPod. Follow the prompts to upgrade and restart your iPod.

6. Follow the instructions to perform a proper installation, which includes an iPod software upgrade.

• Most Macs offer Software Update, which is a program that searches the Internet for upgrades for your computer. Open your computer's System Preferences.
