Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Olympus Roamer 8x21 DPC I Compact Porro Prism Binocular

Step1
Pick up your Olympus Roamer 8x21 DPC I Compact Porro Prism Binocular with two hands and grip firmly around each barrel.

Step2
Measure your binocular eyepieces against your eyes and ensure that the eye interval is set properly. If necessary, adjust your binocular by pulling and pushing the barrels until you find the right fit.
Step3
Find a nearby object located over 15 meters from you to focus on. The object should have sufficient detail and be fixed to avoid losing track.
Step4
Look with your left eye through the corresponding eyepiece until you find the object, and focus using the dial underneath the binocular until it presents a clear circular image.
Step5
Look next with your right eye through the corresponding eyepiece until you find the object, and again focus until you see it as a clear image in your eyepiece.
Step6
Look through both eyepieces to find the object and adjust centrally using the large dial between the barrels.
Step7
Repeat Steps 4, 5 and 6 until you have a perfectly clear image.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pick an object which is fairly distant and detailed, like a license plate on a parked car, which will allow you to focus until you can clearly see the detail from your position. Do not use moving objects, as this will make it nearly impossible to focus both eye pieces initially.
  • Never use the sky or the sun as an object to bring into focus, as doing so can be highly damaging to your sight and can sometimes lead to a loss of vision. Avoiding staring directly at the sun at all times and never focus on sunlight through your binocular.
