iPods are a convenient and creative way to share video, music and images with others. The new iPod video gives you the ability to upload your photos right from your own computer or digital camera. To load photos directly from a card reader onto an iPod, follow these steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Purchase the iPod Camera Connector to transfer the images. Check to make sure it is compatible with your card reader. These connectors usually are a USB cable that should hook up directly to your camera. You can find these online through Apple’s Web site.
Step2
Turn on your iPod. Make sure the battery is fully charged. This process can drain your battery.
Step3
Attach the iPod Camera Connector to your iPod. Turn on your photo card reader.
Step4
Connect the card reader to your iPod. Use the USB cable that came with your card reader or camera.
Step5
Look on the iPod screen and locate “Import.” Choose “Import” and allow the photos to transfer. They will be stored in a folder named “DCI-Digital Camera Images” on your iPod.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can not view slideshows on a TV using photos directly transferred from a photo card reader. The images must be imported from your computer only.
  • Do not disconnect your iPod during the transfer of images. Do not disconnect until your iPod screen says it is OK.
