How to Buy a Used Game Boy on eBay

The auction site eBay is a great place to buy used electronics. The selection is large, and the bidding process offers the opportunity to save a lot of money.

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  1. Step 1

    Go to eBay.com and click on the “Buy” tab at the top of the screen.

  2. Step 2

    Click on “Sign In” if you already have an eBay acoount. If you're a new user, click “Register” and follow the instructions provided to create one.

  3. Step 3

    Select “Video Games” from the drop-down menu. Type “used Game Boy” in the search box and click “Search.”

  4. Step 4

    Examine the list of used Game Boys and click on the link next to the one that interests you.

  5. Step 5

    Read the description to make sure the product is a used Game Boy and that it works properly. If you are not satisfied, hit the back button on your browser and repeat Step 4.

  6. Step 6

    Click “Place Bid” and enter an amount greater than the price of the current high bid. If the "Buy It Now" option is available, you can purchase the Game Boy immediately at the given price.

  7. Step 7

    Monitor the auction as it progresses. If you are outbid, you can either make a higher offer or search for another used Game Boy in your price range.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look for a used Game Boy near the end of its auction period, when there is little time for you to be outbid.
  • Read the description more than once.
  • Check the seller's feedback before you bid on any item. Once you bid on an item, you are obligated to buy it if you win the auction.
