Attaching the optical tube is one step in assembling your Celestron Firstscope 76EQ Telescope. Here's how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Loosen the screws (just slightly) that hold the telescope's mounting rings in place.
Step2
Move the rings so that each is at the same distance as the mounting platform's holes.
Step3
Put the flat portion of the tube on the mounting platform.
Step4
Line up the square extrusions' holes with the mounting platform's end holes.
Step5
Begin with the ring closest to the tube's focuser end, and put the bolt through the mounting platform's hole. Do the same with the other mounting ring.
Step6
Tighten the screws holding the mounting ring.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to identify and familiarize yourself with all parts before beginning the assembly process.
  • The counterweight must be attached to the mount before you mount the optical tube.
