PictoChat lets you scribble notes and doodles on your Nintendo DS and send them to other Nintedo DS systems, all without wires. Each Nintendo DS system can use PictoChat as long as it has good signal strength. Here’s a quick guide to help you use PictoChat on a Nintendo DS:

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Nintendo DS
  • Stylus

Step1
Turn on your Nintendo DS system.
Step2
Tap the PictoChat panel from the DS menu screen. Use your stylus and gently tap the touch screen.
Step3
Join a chat room. The number indicates how many people are in the chat room. The icon indicates the signal strength for that room. Tap the panel to join.
Step4
Type messages. Use the on-screen keyboard to type text messages. Tap the letter you want to input with the stylus and hit “send” to display the message.
Step5
Use the pen tool. Select the pen tool by tapping the pencil icon on the left. Draw in the input area right above the keyboard on your input screen. Tap “send” to submit your drawing.
Step6
Use the erase tool. Select the eraser from the left. Draw over lines you want to erase with this tool. Remember to select the pen tool again to resume drawing.
Step7
Chat! Have a conversation and mess around with the different features. Have fun!

Tips & Warnings

  • You can change your display name by selecting Settings Panel from the DS menu screen. Tap the yellow icon to access user information.
  • If messages lag or are lost, try switching to a room with better signal strength.
  • The number on the right indicates the room capacity. So if a room displays 17/17 it is full and you cannot join.
