While using a Nintendo DS wireless multiplayer, you need to maintain good wireless signal strength. To determine the wireless signal strength on a Nintendo DS you need to understand the icons and indicators.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Nintendo DS

Step1
Take note of the LED light. This is the red or green power indicator lamp. When it flashes slowly, you are in wireless mode. When it flashes rapidly, you are transferring data.
Step2
Recognize the signal strength icon. It looks the same as the bars on a cellular phone. It looks like an antennae with three lines to the right of it.
Step3
Locate the signal strength icon. While playing a wireless game, the icon will appear in the upper or lower display.
Step4
Understand the signal strength icon. The bars on the right will either be dim or bright. More brightened bars mean strong signal strength. Dim bars mean weaker signal strength.
Step5
Improve your signal strength. The closer you are to other Nintendo DS systems, the better. Also, stay away from other wireless devices that may interfere.

Tips & Warnings

  • Physical objects, like walls and people, can disrupt signal.
  • Start within 30 feet of other players and move closer or further away slowly, according to the signal strength.
  • Wireless play is prohibited in some areas, like airplanes and blast zones.
