From Quick Guide: Nintendo DS Gaming
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  1. Step 1

Go straight to the source! Visit Nintendo’s Web site to see the selection of official accessories. Click the link for “parts, manuals and accessories.” Then click Nintendo DS.

  2. Step 2

Find out what version of Nintendo DS to buy for. There are two types of Nintendo DS: Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite. The Nintendo Store is split into two sections because not all accessories are compatible with both models.

  3. Step 3

Browse the selection. Once you’ve selected your model, click "parts and accessories." You’ll see a list of available items. Click them for more information. Click buy to purchase it.

  4. Step 4

Search the Internet. Go to your favorite search engine and type in “Nintendo DS accessories.” You’ll receive tons of returns. Visit a couple sites and shop around.

  5. Step 5

Read reviews. Buy with confidence by doing a little bit of research on an accessory before you buy. Copy and paste the name of the item into a search and add the term “review” to get the skinny on the accessory.

  6. Step 6

Go to a store and ask. Parents aren’t always completely tuned in to what’s hot for accessories. Luckily, any person working at a video game or electronics store should be able to point you in the right direction.

Tips & Warnings
  • Official, licensed accessories are generally more reliable than generic brands.
  • Lost styluses, wrist straps, battery covers and more can be bought from the Nintendo Store.
  • Damage to your system caused by unlicensed and unofficial accessories is not covered by the Nintendo DS warranty.
