You also can customize and decorate your photos with different borders, effects and themes. You can give your photos a truly unique look in just a few minutes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Image files in .jpeg or .jpg format
  • Yahoo! account
  • Internet access

Add Borders to Your Photos

Choose a photo to edit from one of your albums or from the "All My Photos" collection.
Step2
Select the photo you’ve chosen by clicking on it. Then click the “Edit” button on the taskbar.
Step3
Choose the “Rotate, Borders & More” option.
Step4
Click the “Borders” button on the taskbar to see lists of options for border effects.
Step5
Choose from designs in one of eight different border themes. Select a design by clicking on the thumbnail in the Borders menu.
Step6
Use the zoom slider to zoom in on details in the photo. Click the direction buttons to move the photo around beneath the border overlay.
Step7
Save your photo when you’re satisfied with your border selection and placement. Click “Save” to overwrite the original photo. Save the decorated copy of the photo under a new name and preserve the original by clicking “Save a Copy.”

Add Effects to Your Photos

Step1
Choose a photo to edit from one of your albums or from the "All My Photos" collection.
Step2
Select the photo you’ve chosen by clicking on it. Then click the “Edit” button on the taskbar.
Step3
Choose the “Rotate, Borders & More” option.
Step4
Click the “Effects” button on the taskbar to see lists of effects options.
Step5
Choose from eight different effects. These change the colors or appearance of the photos in a variety of ways.
Step6
Save your photo when you’re satisfied with your selection. Click “Save” to overwrite the original photo. Save the decorated copy of the photo under a new name and preserve the original by clicking “Save a Copy.”

Tips & Warnings

  • The effects give you fun options to change the way your photos look. For example, change your color photos into sepia tones or black-and-white to give them an old-time feel.
  • Click “Revert to Original” at any time to change the display to the original, untouched copy of the photo. However, you’ll lose any changes you’ve made if you don’t save a copy first.
  • If you want to retain an original, untouched copy of the photo, save the decorated version under a new name.
