With Yahoo! Photos, you not only get access to unlimited photo storage space, but you also have some great ways to organize your photos so that you can categorize them and find them easily. Here's how to organize your photos in Yahoo! Photos:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Image files in .jpeg or .jpg format
  • Computer with Internet access

Organize Your Photos By Creating Albums

  1. Step 1

Click “All My Photos” on the Yahoo! Photos home page.

  2. Step 2

Drag and drop into the tray the photos you want to put in your new album. Alternatively, select multiple photos by holding down the "Ctrl" key when you select them.

  3. Step 3

Choose the “Create” option from the menu above the tray.

  4. Step 4

Select the “Album” option, then choose a name and description for your new album.

  5. Step 5

Click “Create Album.” All the photos you dragged into the tray will appear as part of the new album.

  6. Organize Your Photos with Tags

  7. Step 1

Click the “All My Photos” button to access your entire collection, or click an album to access the photos in the album.

  8. Step 2

Click a photo to select it.

  9. Step 3

Click “Edit” and choose the “Name, Description & Tags” option.

  10. Step 4

Add or edit the name, description and tag for the photo. When you’re finished editing, click “Save” to save your changes.

  11. Step 5

Edit multiple photos at once by adding each photo to the tray, then clicking on the “Edit” button and repeating Steps 3 and 4. Alternatively, select multiple photos by holding down the "Ctrl" key when you select them.

  12. Organize Your Photos with Smart Albums

  13. Step 1

Click “All My Photos” on the Yahoo! Photos home page.

  14. Step 2

Drag and drop into the tray the photos you want to put in your new album.

  15. Step 3

Choose the “Create” option from the menu above the tray.

  16. Step 4

    Select the “Smart Album” option.

  17. Step 5

Choose a name and description for your new album.

  18. Step 6

Select your criteria for the album. What you choose will determine whether photos you upload in the future will be added to this Smart Album.

  19. Step 7

Click “Create Smart Album” when you have finished.

Tips & Warnings
  • By using tags and Smart Albums, you can create albums that grow automatically as you upload photos. When you create Smart Albums, you can assign them to automatically add photos with specific tags. Then, by assigning the tag when you upload a photo, the photo will become part of the Smart Album. For example, create a Smart Album containing photos of your pet by assigning your pet’s name as a tag criteria for the album, then add that tag to each photo of your pet that you upload.
  • The photos that you upload and use on Yahoo! Photos must have the .jpeg or .jpg file extension (you will receive an error message if you try to upload files with any other extension type). Turn other image types into .jpegs or .jpgs by opening them in an image editor such as MS Paint and then saving them as the appropriate file type.
