Yahoo! Photos makes it easy to organize your photos into albums and share them with friends and family. If you prefer to keep some of your photos private, it’s easy to change the settings. Here's how to make a Yahoo! Photos album private:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet connection
  • Yahoo! account
  1. Step 1

Go to your collections list and click the public album that you want to make private.

  2. Step 2

Click “Share” in the taskbar and choose “Permissions” under the “Album” heading.

  3. Step 3

Check the box labeled “Private,” then click “Save”.

Tips & Warnings
  • A fast and easy way to check the permissions for all your albums at once is to click “My Albums” in your collections list. When the albums page loads, look for the icon in the lower-right corner of each album. A gold person icon means the album is private, and a green globe icon indicates that the album is public. Note that there is no equivalent way of checking the status of individual photos.
  • Another easy way to check which photos and albums are public (and to make sure you haven’t unintentionally made public the photos that you’d rather keep private) is to sign out of Yahoo! Photos and then go to your Yahoo! Photos home page. You’ll see what anyone else visiting your page will see. Your private photos and albums won’t be visible, so you can see at a glance the individual photos that you’ve made public.
  • Public albums and photos can be viewed by anyone—friends and strangers alike. If you’re not comfortable with strangers seeing your photos, making them private is the best option. There are plenty of other ways to share your photos, including through email and Yahoo! Messenger.
