The online photo-sharing service Yahoo! Photos makes it easy to share your photos with friends and family. By changing one simple setting for a photo or album, you can make it public so anyone can view it. Tips & Warnings
  • You can’t make Smart Albums or the “All My Photos” collection public, but you can make individual photos in these collections public.
  • An easy way to check the permissions of all your albums is to click “My Albums” in your collections list. Notice the icon in the lower-right corner of each album—a gold-colored person icon indicates that the album private, and a green-colored globe icon means it's public.
  • Making photos or albums public is the best way of sharing them if you don’t want to send out a lot of email invitations and you’re not worried about privacy issues.
  • Click the “Settings” button on the Yahoo! Photos home page to determine what people can do with the photos you share. The default setting allows people to add comments about your photos and order prints. If you prefer, you can give viewers the ability to add tags, too (although this isn't recommended because it could interfere with the way you’ve organized your photos). Note that the "Settings" options can’t be changed for individual photos or albums—they apply to everything in your collections.
  • Another easy way to check which photos and albums are public (and make sure you haven’t accidentally made a photo public that you’d rather keep private) is to sign out of Yahoo! Photos then go to your Yahoo! Photos home page. You will be able to see what anyone else visiting your page will see, so you will not be able to see your private photos and albums.
  • Public albums and photos are viewable by anyone, including friends and strangers alike. If you’re not comfortable with strangers seeing your photos, consider using another method to share them (for example, invite people to view your photos via email invitations or Yahoo! Messenger).
