Instructions

    • 1

Sign into Yahoo! Photos using your Yahoo! ID and password.

    • 2

Upload photos for cropping. Choose the photo that you want to crop.

    • 3

Click "Edit" from the tool bar above the photo. From the drop-down menu that appears, click "Rotate, Borders & More."

    • 4

Click "Crop" from the tool bar above the photo.

    • 5

Select from the photo-size options and from the orientation options (landscape or portrait). A yellow crop box will appear in your picture.

    • 6

Resize the crop box around the part of the picture you want to keep. Everything inside of the yellow box will remain in the picture. Everything outside of the yellow box will be cut.

    • 7

Click "Apply" when finished or "Cancel" if you don't wish to crop the photo.

    • 8

Preview your cropped photo and click "Save" to replace the original image or click "Save a Copy" to add this cropped version to your photos while retaining the original photo. If you don't like the cropped image, click "Revert to Original" below the photo and it will assume its original state.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once you have cropped the photo to your satisfaction, you can enhance the picture in other ways, such as fixing red eye, changing the picture from color to sepia tone or gray scale and putting a decorative border around it.

  • When you crop a photo, you enlarge the portion of the image that you want to keep. Remember, however, that this can impair the photo's clarity. After cropping the image, follow Yahoo! Photos print-size recommendation. An uncropped image may print clearly as an 8 x 10, but once it's cropped, it may only print clearly as a 5 x 7.

  • If you choose a group of photos to crop simultaneously, move to the next photo by clicking the next or previous thumbnail photo in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  • Once you've cropped your photo, you can order snapshot-size prints or create photo books, calendars, greeting cards and poster-size prints directly from Yahoo! Photos.
