How to Create a Private Yahoo! Photos Album

With Yahoo! Photos, you can access unlimited photo storage space and organize your photos into albums based on any criteria you choose. There are two ways to create a private album-as you upload photos or with photos that are already in your Yahoo Photos! account. Here's how to create a private Yahoo! Photos album:

• Digital images with the file extension .jpeg or .jpg
• Yahoo account

Upload Photos Directly to a New Private Album

1. Click "Upload Photos" on the Yahoo! Photos home page.

2. Select "New Album" from the drop-down menu.

3. Type a name and description for your new album when prompted, then click the "Continue" button.

4. Select photos to upload one by one or use the "Easy Upload" tool.

5. Click "Continue" to edit names, descriptions and tags for the photos you have uploaded. Note that all the photos you have uploaded will be part of both "All My Photos" and the photo album you have just created.

Create a Private Album While Viewing Photos

6. Click "All My Photos" on the Yahoo! Photos home page.

7. Drag and drop photos you want to put in your new album into the tray. Alternatively, select multiple photos by holding down the Ctrl key when you select them.

8. Choose the "Create" option from the menu above the tray.

9. Select the "Album" or "Smart Album" option, then choose a name and description for your new album.

10. Click "Create Album." All the photos you dragged into the tray will appear as part of the new album.

Create a Private Smart Album While Viewing Photos

11. Click "All My Photos" on the Yahoo! Photos home page.

12. Drag and drop into the tray the photos you want to put in your new album.

13. Choose the "Create" option from the menu above the tray.

14. Select the "Smart Album" option.

15. Choose a name and description for your new album.

16. Set criteria for adding new photos to the Smart Album. These can include tags, dates and ratings.

17. Click "Create Album." All the photos you dragged into the tray will appear as part of the new album.

Tips & Warnings

• A single album can hold up to 300 photos.
• The photos that you upload to Yahoo! Photos must have a .jpeg or .jpg file extension. Change the extension of image files by opening them in an image editor (such as MS Paint) and saving them as .jpeg or .jpg files.
