How to Create a New Yahoo! Photos Album

With Yahoo! Photos, you get unlimited photo storage space and you can organize your photos into albums based on any criteria you choose. You can either create an album as you upload photos or create one with photos that are already in your Yahoo! Photos account. Here's how to create a new Yahoo! Photos album:

Things You'll Need

• Digital images with the file extension .jpeg or .jpg
• Yahoo! account

Instructions

Create an Album While Uploading Photos

1. Click "Upload Photos" on the Yahoo! Photos home page (view the link in Resources below).

2. Select "New Album" or "Smart Album" from the drop-down menu.

3. Type a name and description for your new album when prompted and then click "Continue."

4. Add photos to upload individually or use the "Easy Upload" tool.

5. Click "Continue" to edit names, descriptions and tags for the photos you have uploaded. Note that the photos will become part of "All My Photos" and part of the photo album you just created.

Create an Album While Viewing Photos

1. Click "All My Photos" on the Yahoo! Photos home page.

2. Drag and drop photos for your new album into the tray.

3. Choose the "Create" option from the menu above the tray.

4. Select the "Album" option and then choose a name and description for your new album.

5. Click "Create Album." All the photos you dragged into the tray will be displayed in the new album.

Create a Smart Album

1. Click "All My Photos" on the Yahoo! Photos home page.

2. Drag and drop photos for your new album into the tray.

3. Choose the "Create" option from the menu above the tray.

4. Select the "Smart Album" option.

5. Choose a name and description for your new album.

6. Select your criteria, or keywords, for this album. The criteria will be applied to photos you upload in the future so that they will be displayed in this Smart Album.

7. Click "Create Smart Album" when you finish.

Tips & Warnings

• Smart Albums make organizing your photos easier because you can select new photos to add based on the keywords you choose for each photo.

• A single album can hold up to 300 photos.

• The photos you upload to Yahoo! Photos must have the .jpeg or .jpg file extension. An error message will appear if you try to upload files with any other extension type.
