How to Set an Age Restriction for Your Yahoo! Photos Album

By eHow Computers Editor

Rate: (1 Ratings)

If the images in your Yahoo! Photos album aren't always G rated, you can restrict access to your album to viewers who register themselves with Yahoo! as eighteen or older. It's not foolproof, but it will keep many minors away.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Digital photos
  • Yahoo! account
  • Computer with Internet access
Step1
Visit Yahoo! Photos (view the link in Resources below).
Step2
Use your Yahoo! ID to sign in. If you do not already have a Yahoo! ID, register to get one.
Step3
Choose the album that you want to restrict by clicking it.
Step4
Find your editing options for the album at the top of the photo. Click the option that reads "Privacy Settings."
Step5
Check the box next to the option that makes your Yahoo! Photos album private.
Step6
Click “Save” at the bottom.

Tips & Warnings

  • Selecting the privacy option is the responsible thing to do if you have any concerns about the appropriateness of your photos.
  • The privacy restriction will not apply to your children if they know how to log in to your Yahoo! account. You should monitor their activities at all times when they are online.
  • Putting sexually explicit images online can be illegal if minors view them. Be sure to restrict all provocative photos.
