With an adapter, you can play your MP3 through your car stereo cassette deck, and take your entire music collection with you while traveling. Here's how.
Things You'll Need
- Cassette adapter
- MP3 player
Turn on your car stereo.
Power on the MP3 player. Insert the small adapter end of the cassette adapter into the earphone jack of the player.
Insert the cassette end of the cassette adapter into the cassette deck of the car stereo. You will hear an audible click when the connection is secure.
Press "Play" on the MP3 player. The audio should pour through the car speakers.
Tips & Warnings
- Cassette adapters usually are generic and should work with most MP3 players. Check the owner's manual for your player to make sure you do not need a specific type or brand of cassette adapter.
- Before you play your MP3 player through your car stereo, turn down the volume of the car stereo. If the volume is too loud, you may damage the speakers.
- Make a playlist for your MP3 player or set it to play music continuously before driving. You can lose control of your car if you attempt to operate a player while driving.
