  • Image files in .jpeg or .jpg format
  1. Step 1

If you don't have a Yahoo! account yet, sign up. Then navigate to the Yahoo! Photos page.

  2. Step 2

Click “Upload Photos." The “One by One” link is located on the right side of the page.

Choose where you want to add photos in Yahoo! Photos. You can create a new album, add to an existing album, or simply add them to the default collection, “All My Photos.

  4. Step 4

Click “Browse” to locate the photo files on your computer. Make sure that the photos you add are in the jpeg or jpg format—check this by holding your cursor over the file until a tooltip pops up. The tooltip will contain information such as the size of the file, the dimensions of the image and the file type.

  5. Step 5

To select photos, click on the file name, and then click “Open” on the file upload window.

  6. Step 6

Add up to ten photos. Click “Start Upload.”

  7. Step 7

Click “Continue” to add a name, description and tags for each photo.

  8. Step 8

To load larger groups of photos, download the "Easy Upload Tool." A link for the tool is located at the bottom of the Yahoo! Photos home page.

Tips & Warnings
  • While uploading photos with the Easy Upload Tool, use the “Faster Upload” option to increase upload speed. You should choose this option if you have a slow Internet connection or many photos to upload in a single session. Note that your larger photos will be sized down if you use this feature and that the feature is only available on the Internet Explorer web browser.
  • Use "tags" to help you organize your photos into categories—this makes them easier to locate later on. Using tags also helps you create "Smart Albums," which grow automatically as you upload more photos to your account.
  • Yahoo! Photos only allows you to upload image files with the .jpeg or .jpg extension. If files are not .jpg you will receive an error message: “Upload Incomplete: No files were uploaded.” To convert images to .jpg, open a photo editor such as MS Paint, and save as a .pg file.
