How to Use Your Sony CFD-ZW755 Boombox as an Alarm Clock

Set the timer on a Sony CFD-ZW755 boombox and you can wake up to your favorite music or morning radio program. Here's how to make your boombox work as an alarm clock.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sony CFD-ZW755 boombox
  1. Step 1

    Set the clock. You can't set the alarm without setting the correct time first. Press and hold "Clock" for 2 seconds until the hour digit flashes on the display.

  2. Step 2

    Set the current hour by turning "Preset Time Set" and press "DSPL ENT MEM." Now the minute digits will flash on the display.

  3. Step 3

    Repeat to set the minutes. For example, if the clock says 8:00 p.m. and it's 8:32, turn the "Preset Time Set" button until the minutes read "32."

  4. Step 4

    Press "DSPL ENT MEM" again to set time.

  5. Step 5

    Press "Timer." The clock symbol and the music source options (“Radio” or “CD”) will flash on the display.

  6. Step 6

    Select "Preset Time Set" and then choose the music source you want to play as an alarm. Insert a CD if you want to wake up to it or tune to the radio station of your choice.

  7. Step 7

    Press "DSPL ENT MEM."

  8. Step 8

    Select the time you want alarm sound. Turn to "Preset Time Set" and press "DSPL ENT MEM." For example, if you have selected 7:30 a.m., the display will flash with a.m. and 7:30.

  9. Step 9

    Set the time limit for playing the wake-up music.

  10. Step 10

    Set the volume range by turning to "Preset Time Set" and press "DSPL ENT MEM."

  11. Step 11

    Press "Standby." The alarm symbol will flash on the display and the power will go off. At the preset time, the power will turn on and your alarm music will play.

Tips & Warnings
  • The alarm setting does not change until you reset the timer. You must repeat the whole process to change the alarm time.
  • After the alarm music is played for the preset amount of time, the player shifts back to "Standby" mode.
