Things You’ll Need:
- Meade LX90 GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope
Step1
Check that the telescope's locks are tight and that you have correctly attached AutoStar is to the telescope.
Step2
Turn on the telescope.
Step3
When "Press 0 to Align or Mode for Menu" appears on the display, press "0" to start automatic alignment.
Step4
"Automatic Alignment" will appear on the display. The telescope will automatically perform several procedures such as detecting the level of the base of the telescope, finding north and attempting a GPS fix.
Step5
Next, the telescope will orient itself. You will first see "Automatic Alignment: Selecting Star and Slewing" on the display. "Center Brightest Star: Press Enter" will eventually appear on the display. Use the "Arrow" keys to center on the brightest star in the area and press "Enter."
Step6
The telescope will move to the second alignment star. "Center Brightest Star: Press Enter" will appear on the display. Use the "Arrow" keys to center the alignment star in the eyepiece and press "Enter."
Step7
You should see "Alignment Successful" on the display.
