How to Select a Landmark From the Autostar Database on Your Meade LX90GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope

Once you've stored a landmark (a terrestrial object that you would like to view or use for orientation) in the memory of your Autostar computer controller, you can use the Autostar controls to find and view it with your Meade LX90GPS telescope.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Meade Autostar computer controller
  • Meade LX90GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope

Step1
Go to "Landmark: Select" on the Autostar menu and press "Enter."

Step2
Use the scroll keys to find the landmark. Press "Enter."

Step3
Use the scroll keys to see information about the landmark, or press "Go To" to turn your telescope to the landmark.

Tips & Warnings

  • To find the landmark, your telescope must be aligned and located just as it was when the landmark was saved.
  • Press "Mode" to exit.
