Use Autostar's "Identify" menu to learn about any unknown objects you find in the sky.

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Meade DSX-125C Altazimuth-Cassegrain telescope

Step1
Using the arrow keys, center the object in the eyepiece.
Step2
Find the "Object Identify" option and select "Enter."
Step3
"Searching..." will appear in the display. After a moment, Autostar will identify the closest object.
Step4
If you would like to learn more about the object, use the scroll keys to read the displayed information.

Tips & Warnings

  • In order to use this function, the telescope must be in the "Home" position with Autostar already initialized. The function will not work if you move the telescope.
