How to Add a Landmark to the Autostar Database of Your Meade DSX-125C Altazimuth-Cassegrain Telescope

The menu option "Landmarks" defines and stores the location of objects in the sky. Use this function as a reference while using your telescope.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Meade DSX-125C Altazimuth-Cassegrain telescope

1. Set the telescope in the "Home" position.
2. Find the "Setup Targets" menu option.
3. Select "Terrestrial" and then "Enter."
4. Press "Mode" once. "Select Item Setup" will appear.
5. Scroll down to "Select Item Object" and select "Enter."
6. Scroll up to "Object Landmarks." Press "Enter."
7. Scroll down to "Landmark Add" and press "Enter."
8. Use the arrow keys to enter the name of the landmark. Press "Enter."
9. Use the arrow keys to move your telescope to the landmark. Center it in the eyepiece. Select "Enter."

Tips & Warnings

• In order to utilize the "Landmark" function, you must situate and align your telescope as it was when you added the landmark to the database.
• In Step 9, be sure to use the arrow keys rather than manually moving the telescope.
