Finding Saturn with your telescope is an exciting experience that leaves you feeling in touch with nature. By following these steps, you will be able to locate Saturn and marvel at this amazing celestial body.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Meade DSX-125C Altazimuth-Cassegrain telescope

Step1
Once aligned, the telescope will display "Select Item Object." Choose "Enter."
Step2
Press "Enter" when you see "Object Solar System."
Step3
"Solar System Mercury" will display. Press the scroll down key until you come to "Solar System Saturn."
Step4
Select "Enter."
Step5
Press "GO TO." The telescope will slew until it finds Saturn.

Tips & Warnings

  • Perform the "Easy Align" procedure before attempting to find Saturn.
  • Even though Earth is rotating beneath the stars, objects in the eyepiece will maintain their position.
  • Once your telescope is aligned, use only the "GO TO" or arrow keys to move the device.
  • Once your telescope is aligned, do not move the base manually or loosen the locks.
  • Saturn is not visible at all times.
