The Landmarks menu option on your Meade DSX-90 Altazimuth-Cassegrain telescope defines and stores objects in the sky. You will be able to employ this function as a reference when you are using the device.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Meade DSX-90 Altazimuth-Cassegrain telescope

Step1
If necessary, set the telescope in the home position.

Step2
Find the "Setup Targets" menu option.

Step3
Select "Terrestrial" and then "Enter."

Step4
Press "Mode" once and you will see "Select Item Setup" on the display.

Step5
Using the "Scroll Down" key, go down once to "Select Item Object" and select "Enter."

Step6
Press "Scroll Up" twice and you will see "Object Landmarks" display. Press "Enter."

Step7
Use the "Scroll Down" key once and press "Enter" when you see "Landmark Add" appear.

Step8
Use the arrow keys to enter the name of the landmark and then press "Enter."

Step9
Use the arrow key to move your telescope to the landmark and center the item in the eyepiece. Select "Enter."

Tips & Warnings

  • To utilize the Landmarks function, situate and align your telescope as it was when you added the landmark to the database.
  • In Step 9, use the arrow keys rather than manually moving the telescope.
