How to Set iTunes to Automatically Update Songs on an iPod

iPod updates whenever you connect it to your computer, so the iPod music library will automatically synchronize with the songs and playlists in your computer's library. Any additions or deletions you've made in iTunes will replicate in your iPod.

  • Computer with Internet access
  • iPod
  1. Step 1

    As soon as you connect your iPod to your computer, iTunes automatically transfers songs from iTunes. You do not have to perform any additional steps.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to automatically add only specific songs if you have more songs on your computer's library than will fit on your iPod's library.
  • If you only want to transfer specific songs, you can do so manually rather than automatically.
