How to Use a Nintendo DS Lite's Alarm

The Nintendo DS Lite's alarm can alert you when it's time to stop gaming and tend to other business. However, you must first set the time and turn on the alarm to activate this warning device. Here are the steps.

  • Nintendo DS Lite
  • Stylus
  1. Step 1

    Turn on the Nintendo DS Lite. You will find the power button on the right side of the device.

  2. Step 2

    Tap the touch screen with your stylus to get to the main menu. Once you are there, find the "Settings" menu and tap on it. This will bring up a group of icons.

  3. Step 3

    Look for the "Calendar/Time" icon. This is a blue square with a clock on a calendar grid. Tap on this icon to bring up the "Calendar" and "Time" icons.

  4. Step 4

    Find the "Alarm" icon. This looks like an old-fashioned alarm clock. Tap the icon with your stylus.

  5. Step 5

    Set the alarm time using the up and down arrows on the next screen.

  6. Step 6

    Tap "Set Alarm" to turn the alarm on. Tap "Confirm" to save the settings.

  7. Step 7

    Keep the Nintendo DS Lite within earshot so you can hear the alarm when it goes off.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to remove any games from the Nintendo DS Lite before setting the alarm.
  • If you want to shut the alarm off, just press one of the four main buttons: "A," "B," "X" or "Y." You can also shut the alarm off by tapping the screen.
  • Make sure that the battery in your Nintendo DS Lite is fully charged before using it as an alarm. If the battery is too low, the alarm may not go off.
