How to Set the Time on a Nintendo DS Lite

Like most handheld gaming devices, a Nintendo DS Lite requires you to set the time on first use. To modify the settings on your Nintendo DS Lite, locate the appropriate icons on the touch screen and tap them with your stylus.

Things You'll Need

• Nintendo DS Lite
• Stylus

Instructions

1. Take any game cards or packs out of the Nintendo DS Lite.

2. Find the power switch located on the right side of the DS Lite and turn the power on.

3. Open the Nintendo DS Lite to the main screen and the small touch screen. Wait for the following message to appear on the main screen: "Touch the Touch Screen to continue."

4. Use the stylus to tap the touch screen. This will bring up the main menu. Find the "Settings" menu and tap it.

5. Select the "Calendar/Time" icon. This will bring up a bunch of icons, one of which should look like a clock face. Use the stylus to tap on the "Clock" icon.

6. Set the time. Use the up and down arrows on the next screen to change the time. Tap the "Confirm" button when you have the correct time set on the Nintendo DS Lite.

7. Exit from the "Settings" menu. The Nintendo DS Lite will shut down and save the time you just set.

Tips & Warnings

• These instructions assume that you have fully charged the battery in the Nintendo DS Lite. If you have not done so, dig out your AC adapter and charge the batteries to full power before continuing.

• With the correct time set on your Nintendo DS Lite, you can use the machine as an alarm clock. Who said there isn't a practical use for the DS Lite?

• Do not use excessive force when tapping on the touch screen. Also, do not use objects other than the stylus to touch the screen or you might damage the screen.
