The wireless signal strength is displayed on either the main screen or the touch screen of the Nintendo DS Lite, depending on the kind of wireless connection that you have established.

1. Start playing a wireless game, or enable the PictoChat feature on the Nintendo DS Lite. A wireless game is marked with a big blue Wi-Fi seal on the packaging.

2. Check either the upper or lower display for a wireless icon, which resembles an antenna with bars radiating from its side. The number of bars indicates the wireless signal strength.

3. See only a single bar? The signal strength is poor, and you should move your Nintendo DS Lite to achieve a better signal. A clear line-of-sight is recommended for best results.

4. See just two bars? This is average signal strength, and is the recommended bare minimum for playing wireless games or using the chat feature of Wi-Fi-capable games.

5. See three bars? Now the signal strength is starting to cook. This is a good wireless signal, but not the best the system can deliver.

6. See four bars? The wireless signal strength on your Nintendo DS Lite is the best that it can be. Continue to monitor the wireless signal strength as you move around.
