1
Find a flat surface that is near a power outlet. Lay the Nintendo DS Lite on the surface with the back edge of the unit facing you.
-
2
Find the AC connector port on the back of the DS Lite next to the game card slot.

-
3
Examine the adapter cord. It has two ends. One end is a big square converter. The other end is smaller and resembles a USB jack. Plug the smaller end into the AC adapter port on the Nintendo DS Lite.
-
4
Plug the other end of the adapter cord into the wall outlet. The adapter is made to handle a 120-volt current. If your household current is not 120 volts, you will need a different adapter.
-
5
Look at the top of the Nintendo DS Lite. On the right-hand side of the back edge, you will see two LED indicator lights. One of them will glow orange when the unit is charging.
-
6
Wait for the charging indicator to go out. Once the light goes out, the unit is finished charging.
-
7
Unplug the AC adapter from the outlet. Now unplug the adapter from the Nintendo DS Lite. Wind up the adapter cord for storage.
