Things You'll Need:

  • Game Boy Advance
  • Game Boy micro
  1. Step 1

Find the cable that links the devices together. This is often labeled as “Game Boy micro to Game Boy Advanced.”

  2. Step 2

Check out local stores, advertisements and deals on the Internet in order to find a good price. Ask friends or family members where they bought their cables, and how much they spent.

  3. Step 3

Buy the cable that links the devices. Ask a salesperson to direct you to the location of the cables.

  4. Step 4

Remove the cable from the packaging. Try not to damage the original packaging; it can be used as storage.

  5. Step 5

Insert each plug into the correct device. Since the ports are different in size, it will be easy to see which side fits into which device.

  6. Step 6

Turn your Game Boys on and select the appropriate options for playing a multi-player game. The systems should recognize the link.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you buy the correct cable. Device compatibilities will be clearly indicated on the package.
  • It is best to have the Game Boys off when linking, but they can also be on.
  • Do not try to use a different cable to link the systems. This could damage the pins within the Game Boy ports.
