Do you know how to efficiently move around in a long Microsoft Word Document that has already been keyed in? May be the following steps will help you.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
To move to the next line, press the DOWN ARROW.
Step2
To move to the previous line, press the UP ARROW.
Step3
To move to the next character, press the RIGHT ARROW.
Step4
To move to the previous character, press the LEFT ARROW.
Step5
To move to the end of a line, press END.
Step6
To move to the beginning of a line, press HOME.
Step7
To go forward a word at a time, press CONTROL + RIGHT ARROW.
Step8
To go backward a word at a time, press CONTROL + LEFT ARROW.
Step9
To move to the top of the next page, press CONTROL + PAGE DOWN key.
Step10
To move to the top of the previous page, press CONTROL + PAGE UP key.
Step11
To move to the beginning of the document, press CONTROL + HOME.
Step12
To move to the end of the document, press CONTROL + END.
Step13
To move down one screen, press PAGE DOWN.
Step14
To move up one screen, press PAGE UP.

Tips & Warnings

  • One screen is about 22 lines of text.
  • One page is about 66 lines of text.
  • All keys are repetitive. If you hold them down too long, they will repeat the action.
