I was intoxicated while making popcorn the other night and put the oil on high...and left the kitchen. Flames to ceiling! Don't do it. :)

If you want to eat healthy, just put 1/4 cup of corn kernels into a paper bag and sealed with clear tape. Microwave in High for 1 1/2 minutes and ready to eat. Low fat and healthy!!! Ps. If you like, can add melted butter for taste.

Doing it this way really does taste so much better. But it can be a lot of work if you pot is heavy, my arms get so tired so I bought an oven top popcorn maker. A metal pot with a handle you can turn to stir the popcorn as it pops. You add oil and kernels but done't have to do all the shaking.

I read that vegetable oil catches on fire easily. Coconut oil is supposed to burn the cleanest and canola oil is the healthiest. You can also try soy, olive and peanut oils.
