With the Game Boy micro you no longer have to play video games by yourself. With the Micro Game Link cable you can team up and square off against other Game Boy micro players. This system allows numerous players to participate together in games simply by connecting the systems to each other. Follow these steps to use a Micro Game Link cable on a Game Boy micro.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Micro game link cable
  • Game Boy micro
  1. Step 1

Before you can play multiplayer games, you need to buy the Micro Game Link. Expect to pay about $9.95.

  2. Step 2

Switch your Game Boy micro power switch to off.

  3. Step 3

Designate a single player as Player One and have him insert the Game Pack. When all the players are connected through the Micro Game Link cable, the players without the Game Pack will be able to download the game information from Player One’s Game Boy micro.

  4. Step 4

To connect the systems, Player One will plug the purple connector of the Micro Game Link cable into the Extension Connector (EXT.) on their Game Boy micro.

  5. Step 5

All the remaining players connect their system to Player One’s system by plugging the purple connector into the Interconnect Box of the Game Link cable. Once Players Two, Three and Four are connected to the Game Link cable, they must plug the gray connector into the External Extension Connector (EXT.) on their Game Boy micro systems.

  6. Step 6

When all the players have the same Game Pack each will insert the game into their Game Boy micro and turn their system on. The Micro Game Link Cable will automatically communicate with the other players’ Game Boy micros.

  7. Step 7

Once all the systems are connected, all players can turn on their Game Boy micros and begin playing.

Tips & Warnings
  • In order to connect between a Game Boy micro and a Game Boy Advanced or Game Boy Advanced SP, you need a Game Boy micro Converter Connector.
  • If the game does not work, turn all the systems off and double check to make sure all the systems are properly connected to the Game Link module.
  • The Micro Game Link cable only works with Game Boy micro Game Paks that have been designed to use this multiplayer feature. Look for the Multiplayer Icon on the Game Pak’s packaging.
