How to Conquer Final Fantasy X the Easy Way: Spherimorph and the Crawler

Picking up our easy walkthrough of Final Fantasy X, we find ourselves in Macalania Woods.

Instructions

1. Get ready for a boss fight when you see O'Aka. Head straight up from him to get the ball rolling.

2. Use Magic attacks on the Spherimorph. It is largely resistant to physical attacks. The trick is to wait until it hits you with an elemental attack, then hit it with the opposing element. After you do this, it will use Elemental Shift to change its vulnerable element, so wait until it attacks again.

3. Use non-elemental magic against the Spherimorph, such as Valefor's Energy Ray overdrive. You probably will not have much of this sort of magic, but if you've got it, use it.

4. Have Tidus Haste Lulu to speed up the process of defeating the Spherimorph.

5. Keep your eyes peeled for Spheres lying on the ground from here on out. Not only do they reveal some backstory into Auron, Jecht and Braska's journey, they teach Auron new overdrives!

6. Talk to Clasko outside the travel agency. Your dialogue choice has a small effect on future events, but he does like to agree if you tell him he should be a Chocobo Breeder.

7. Be prepared for new fiends from here on out. There is also another boss coming up, so get ready and fill your overdrive bars!

8. Destroy the Crawler's Negator as soon as it is launched! It prevents magic and summoning from taking place.

9. Attack the Crawler with magic as soon as the Negator is down. Be aware that this will cause the Crawler to react with its Assault attack.

10. Use Lulu's Reflex ability to help dodge the Assault.

11. Bring in an Aeon (preferably Ifrit or Ixion) when you get the "Mana Beam in 3 Turns" message.

12. Follow the countdown, then have your Aeon Shield itself when you see "Mana Beam in 1 Turn."

13. Have the Aeon heal itself in between Mana Beam attacks, then hit the Crawler with an overdrive when it is ready. Be aware that this will leave the Aeon open for 3 turns, which will probably spell its doom.

14. Take note of which girl gets on the snowmobile with you after the fight. Whoever gets on the machine with you is your current favorite, and she is the most likely candidate to throw Tidus the ball when he does his Blitz Ace overdrive.
